Why I chose the topic

I chose this topic to make a website on because I found the black plague to be interesting. It was also the most interesting topic that was in the book I read. I wanted to investigate a little further into the Black Plague because my book did not have much insight to the particular event. Over all, The Black Plague was a good topic for me to work on.

Book review and report

Review: "Living in the Middle Ages" by Dianne Zarlengo

This book was very hard to follow. Considering this book was written in the context of the Middle Ages, the words were hard to decipher. I found it hard to stay awake while reading this book (ergo, it was boring)... So I skipped around a bit to the main parts of the text. Over all the book was informative and that was all I was after.

Now here is my report: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1X18c-_tHP68oaApCO4fAw_66n6vQfiEZqbg1byL233A/edit

Who, What, when and where was "The Black Plague/Death"?

The Black Plague (or also known as the Black Death), was the name given to a disease that was known as the bubonic plague. It was active during the 14th Century. The bubonic plague affected England more than once in that particular century. The Black Plague was said to have been associated with rats that carried fleas. The fleas then bit into their victims and injected them with the disease. Death was quicker for those victims that were weaker.

The plague happened from 1348-1351 killing nearly 25-60% of Europeans. It began in Sicily and spread as far as Sweden.  It was a solemn time in Europe, where bodies just lay about in the street, left to rot. Others that were not affected by the plague shut themselves up and hid themselves from the outside world.
