- The black plague killed 2/3 of the population in Europe.
- The term "Black Death" is quite recent.
- The original term was "the great mortality".
- Many believed that the disease was caused by bad air pockets released by earthquakes.
- The Jews were often blamed for causing the plague
- some bodies of the plague victims were buried inside walls
- Rules were ignored during the time of the plague
